CLEVELAND FOUNDATION

Cleveland Foundation

Client objective: The Cleveland Foundation wanted to celebrate its 100th anniversary by sharing its historical social impact on its community and its future plans with current and prospective donors and community influencers. It chose to partner with Crain's Cleveland Content Studio for its understanding and reach with the Foundation's target audience.

Solution: Crain's Cleveland Business Content Studio designed a survey to derive insights from the community on its core needs, the questions of which were crafted by an editorial specialist. The survey findings would provide a source of thought leadership for the Foundation and a framework against which it could develop its future strategy.

The Studio fielded the survey to the community with great success, receiving more than 700 responses, more than double what it had planned, providing quantifiable and statistically valid data on the attitudes, priorities and needs of the Cleveland business community in areas like education, development, transportation and social services.

Developed into a report titled “The Cleveland Foundation: Celebrating 100 Years of Purpose,” distribution reached Crain's Cleveland Business subscribers, 300 of the Foundation's annual meeting attendees and 1,200 of its Community Foundation Fall Conference.

The Foundation was so pleased with the deliverable, it ordered an additional 10,000 for distribution at the summer Gay Games.
